  • Festival Muse Salentine, Alessano 16.09.2019 Busch Trio has established itself as one of the leading international young piano trios, receiving enthusiastic responses from audiences and critics for their ‘incredible verve’. Named after the legendary violinist Adolf Busch, the three best friends are brought together by a shared deep passion for chamber music and are inspired by Mathieu’s possession of the ‘ex–Adolf Busch’ G.B. Guadagnini violin (Turin, 1783). Since its formation in London in 2012 the trio has developed an extensive performing schedule across Europe’s leading concert halls and festivals. Signing a major recording contract with French label Alpha Classics, the trio released their debut CD in 2016 of Dvořák’s trios to critical acclaim. This CD is part of a 4-CD project of Dvořák’s complete chamber music for piano and strings, the last of which was released in April. Omri Epstein ‘the group’s marvellously sensitive pianist’, Mathieu van Bellen, whose ‘silvery gleam darted eloquently’, and Ori Epstein, with whom ‘you felt in the grip of a warm hug’, have all won prizes in international solo competitions. Recent seasons included a tour of China and the US. Next season’s highlights will include a return to Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, a tour of the US and the release of the complete Box-set of their Dvořák project. They can also look forward to their next CD recording : the complete works by Schubert for piano trio.

  • Shabana, the little Afghan girl operated in Rome, is in town and is guest of the ?Foundation Daniela e Paola?..TEXT By Alberto Nutricati ..?We thank this little girl that is giving us the possibility to send a message of peace to the whole world. We are happy to start the Foundation?s work with the arrival of Shabana, who, just like us, bears the signs of suffering, because she too is a victim of a tragedy with common roots?...With these words Claudio and Laura Bastianutti welcomed Shabana, the three year old Afghan girl that a few days ago underwent a very delicate surgical operation at ?Fatebenefratelli? Hospital in Rome, and who will be a guest in the children?s home dedicated to Daniela and Paola Bastianutti...With the little girl?s arrival the activity of the Foundation ?Daniela e Paola? officially starts. Shabana will spend her convalescence at the Foundation, looked after by doctors from ?Ferrari? Hospital in Casarano...To welcome the girl, who arrived in Casarano yesterday morning with her father Janat Ghul, photojournalist Kash Gabriele Torsello and Ivan De Masi from Italgest Group, were children from the IV Polo Institute...With their liveliness and their singing, armed with balloons and colourful signs, the children greeted Shabana. The event was simple and discreet. No parades, no lights, just the infective joy of fifty children celebrating another child their own age, who has a different language and culture but a similar desire to share moments of joy. ..The name Shabana, which makes one think of warm oriental climates, has become synonymous with hope for children who, in the same home, will be able to find a warm welcome. .The Foundation should have started working a few months ago but because of a few bureaucratic hiccups Shabana?s arrival inaugurated it. As Gabriele Torsello, who in 2005 set in motion the process to help the little girls, said ?nothing happens by chance?...Torsello added ?Shabana?s arrival and the welcome she has received demonstrat

  • KABUL, AFGHANISTAN 2005 - SHABANA'S CASE The old man with no legs implores Allah. A young woman sits in the middle of a crowded street with four kids half-asleep, while vehicles of all kinds drive through the roads of Kabul.[short/long]..A mother wearing the turquoise chador walks towards the bus station with a baby on her harms. She is a nine months old girl with dark blond hair, green luminous eyes and an abnormal and painful abscess on her face. ..Her name is Shabana from Kair Khana and the woman behind the burka is her mother. I ask her what is wrong with the face of her child but she only comes out with "Doctor.... Doctor" and lets me write down her name and address.....My initial thought was to get in touch with the Kabul-based NGOs by sending a picture of Shabana with her details, but back to the hotel I remembered the case of Zakti, a father of five children from Kalikot-Nepal. ..Zakti did have his left cheekbone and part of his skull exposed because of an unknown disease. International charity health organizations were unable to do anything for him. They couldn?t tell him what his disease was. So, the next day I went straight to Shabana?s village in Kair Khana and a few hours later I meet Janat, Shabana's Father. He explained that his daughter was born with a very little spot on her right cheek and was diagnosed with Leishmaniasis, a parasitic disease transmitted by the bite of a female sandfly. Afghanistan has the largest amount of cutaneous leishmaniasis cases in the world with an estimate of 200,000 people affected, including 67,500 in the capital alone. But leishmaniasis was not what Shabana was suffering from.....We approached the United Nation?s Population Fund in Kabul, but apart from telling us the names of childrens? Hospitals in Kabul, there was nothing they could do for her.....We then decided to take Shabana to a Specialist for a consultation and meet Dr. Waheed Ahmad from Jamhoriat Hospital, who referred us to the Head of Dermatology of Avencin
